‘Devara: Part 1’ starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor which released on Friday, smashed the box office as the movie had an exceptional opening of over Rs 80 crore just from the Indian market, in all languages. The worldwide box office has crossed Rs 100 crore. The film surely is making all the right noise, however, it has seen a drop consecutively, since its opening day.The Saturday and Sunday numbers of the movie were lower than Friday. Meanwhile, it has seen a further drop on Monday and still the number is considered decent.
After opening at Rs 82.5 crore on Friday, with just Rs 73.25 crore coming from the Telugu version, the opening of ‘Devara: Part 1’ did beat the Telugu opening of ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘. However, the buzz may slowly be losing steam. On Sunday, the movie made around Rs 39.9 crore in all languages and saw a drop of around 68 percent on Monday. The film made only Rs 12.5 crore on Monday in all languages, as per Sacnilk. In this total, Rs 8 crore has come from Telugu while in Hindi, the movie made around Rs 4 crore on Monday. The total collection of the movie so far, in 4 days, in India, now stands at Rs 173.1 crore.
It is expected that the number may remain similar on Tuesday, however, the night shows on Tuesday may see a jump as Wednesday is a holiday due to Gandhi Jayanti. This holiday may also lead to a jump in numbers on Wednesday. But post that, the film will have to undergo a major test as the navratri nights may lead to less people flocking to cinemas.
