‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, witnessed its first significant dip in box office collections on Day 15, failing to hit the Rs 1,000 crore milestone as anticipated. The film earned an estimated Rs 17.75 crore net on its 15th day, marking a 13% drop from the previous day.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the Hindi version of the film contributed the lion’s share, earning Rs 14 crore, while the Telugu version followed with Rs 2.75 crore. The Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions added Rs 80 lakh, Rs 13 lakh, and Rs 7 lakh, respectively, to the total.
Despite the decline, Pushpa 2 closed its second week with a robust Rs 264.9 crore total. The cumulative box office collections stand at Rs 621.6 crore for the Hindi version, Rs 295.6 crore for the Telugu version, and Rs 52.4 crore for the Tamil version. The Hindi dubbed version of Pushpa 2 was initially expected to surpass a lifetime collection of Rs 800 crore but has now been revised to an estimated Rs 750 crore. The reduction in expectations comes as theatre chains have started to scale back the number of shows for the film during its third week, citing competition from upcoming releases.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ enjoyed an unprecedented run during its initial weeks, dominating the box office after the release date clash with
Vicky Kaushal‘s ‘Chhaava’ was averted. However, the film now faces fresh competition with the arrival of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King‘ and ‘Baby John‘, both set to release during the extended Christmas weekend.
While the dip in collections marks a turning point for the blockbuster, ‘Pushpa 2’ continues to hold strong in the Hindi belt, reflecting Allu Arjun’s growing pan-India appeal. Fans and trade analysts will be keenly watching how the film fares against the new releases and whether it can sustain its momentum during the holiday season.
