Anil Sharma has directed all the three Deols together in ‘Apne’. His association with Sunny Deol has lasted for so many years which got further strengthened with the humungous success of ‘Gadar 2‘ last year. In a recent interview, Anil shared some anecdotes of some priceless moments with the Deols, especially Dharmendra. He recalled how Dharmendra had spoken about his sons Sunny and Bobby during the shoot of ‘Apne’.
While Dharmendra was considered the most handsome actor when he started out, he surely would be having many women falling for him. However, Sunny and Bobby seem rather shy, despite their ‘macho’ on-screen image. During a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Anil Sharma in a recent interview, “Dharam ji, Sunny, Bobby and me were all sitting together in the vanity van. Dharam ji says ‘Mere ladke bade seedhe hain (My sons are too innocent)’. He didn’t realise both his sons were sitting there. ‘Inka yaar, kuch heroines ke sath chakkar hi nahi chalta kabhi. Inko koi badi heroine milti nahi hai kabhi dono ko. Aur mere time ko dekho, sab heroines peeche aati rehti thi. Sab padi rehhti thi peeche (They don’t have affairs with actresses. They don’t find anyone. And look at me, all the heroines were after me)’.”
Sharma revealed that Dharmendra laughed and further added, “Inko samajh nahi aata. Bade seedhe hain ladke. (They are so simple. They don’t understand anything).’ Then he said, ‘Main bhi bada seedha hu, haske bolne lage. Aisa kuch thode hai (I am also innocent, he laughed and said. There’s nothing like that)’.”
