Pop sensation Dua Lipa is set to enter the new year with a sparkle on her finger after quietly getting engaged to actor boyfriend Callum Turner.
After a whirlwind, globe-trotting romance this past year, The Sun reported that Callum went down on one knee and popped the question to his lady love with a stunning diamond ring. Fans noticed Dua’s large diamond engagement ring in a series of festive Instagram posts, where she was pictured wearing a headband and fur-lined Moon Boots. The singer also appears to be wearing the ring in another mirror selfie which she shared online. In another image, the couple shared a sweet car selfie, with Dua beaming as she leaned into Callum.
The news of the engagement comes ahead of the couple’s upcoming star-studded New Year’s Eve bash in London. The upcoming celebration is rumoured to be the talk of the town, with whispers of a starry guest list including Bella Hadid, Harry Styles, and Emma Watson. The party, sources say, will double as a chance for the newly engaged couple to share their joy with friends and family.
The 29-year-old Levitating hitmaker and 34-year-old Fantastic Beasts star are reportedly “so in love,” that their friends and family are thrilled about the engagement. A close source shared with The Sun, “Dua and Callum know this is forever. They couldn’t be happier, and their loved ones are overjoyed. It’s been an amazing Christmas for them.”
The engagement marks the end of a banner year for Dua, whose hits include New Rules and Houdini. Professionally, she wrapped up the first leg of her stadium tour before returning to the UK to celebrate the holidays with her family and fiancé. Personally, the proposal is described as “the cherry on the cake” for the singer.
Dua has previously opened up about her journey to finding love. During the promotion of her album Radical Optimism, she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that she had to rebuild her confidence after challenging past relationships. “You have to forgive, grow, and be okay with the past to move forward,” she said.
Dua was previously dating model Anwar Hadid and filmmaker Romain Gavras. Callum, on the other hand, had been in a long-term relationship with ‘Fantastic Four’ actress Vanessa Kirby.
