Post the success of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, all eyes are now moving to the next big Telugu release Game Changer headlined by Ram Charan. The film is Ram’s first solo release after a gap of 5 years, his last release was SS Rajamouli’s RRR with NTR Jr.
Game Changer is a political thriller directed by Shankar who is known to make a social statement with his films like Sivaji- The Boss, Hindustani and Enthiran. The film opened it’s advance booking a couple of days ago, it began on a somber note, as the film was able to sell tickets worth only Rs 2.5 crore on the first day. But on the second day, the collection jumped many fold, and currently it has sold tickets worth almost Rs 18 crore, and is expected to collect at least Rs 22 crore on the first day of the release. The ticket prices for the film have been hiked in Telangana for the opening day – ticket prices in single screens are upped by Rs 100 and in multiples by Rs 150.
In North America, which has become the biggest market for Telugu films outside of India, the film is expected to touch US $ 1 million mark for its premiere shows, despite the delay caused by delivery of drives to major exhibitors. Post Game Changer, Ram Charan will move on to his next film , which has been titled as RC 16, it is directed by Buchi Babu and has Janhvi Kapoor as his co-star.
A few days ago, there was an attempt to stop the release of Game Changer in Tamil Nadu by Lyca Productions, as they reached out to the Producers Council, stating that Shankar should first complete Indian 3, and only then release Game Changer. But the film is expected to have a smooth release in the state.
Game Changer also features Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah in pivotal roles.
