With the recent re-release of their 1993 film Darr and the buzz surrounding his upcoming film Jaat, Sunny Deol has expressed his interest in working with Shah Rukh Khan again. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the actor hinted that he would love to collaborate with SRK once more.
Sunny Deol expresses desire to reunite with SRK
When asked about who he’d like to do a two-hero film with, Sunny responded that while it’s not something one decides easily, he wouldn’t mind reuniting with Shah Rukh. He said he’s worked with him only once before and doing another film together would be nice. “That was a different period, and now it’s a different period,” he remarked, adding that the idea seemed appealing given how times have changed.
However, Sunny also reflected on the current state of filmmaking. He pointed out that earlier, directors had more creative control over films. These days, he feels that control has waned, and stories often don’t align with the larger-than-life images of actors. “That is very important,” he emphasized.
Sunny Deol thinks multi-starrers only work when backed by strong scripts
Talking about the changing trends in Bollywood, the Jaat actor observed that simply filling a film with stars doesn’t guarantee success. “What will you do if you have so many stars in a movie but there is no story?” he said with a laugh.
He noted that the industry has always moved in phases. At one time, single-hero films were dominant until audiences grew tired of them, which led to a wave of multi-starrers. “That became a fashion,” he said. Sunny concluded by acknowledging that the trend is ever-evolving and that producers naturally adapt to audience demands.
